Zech 12:4–6

12:4
On that day,” says the Lord, “I will strike every horse with confusion and
its rider with madness. I will pay close attention to the house of Judah,
but will strike all the horses of the nations with blindness.
5
Then the leaders of Judah will say to themselves, ‘The inhabitants of
Jerusalem are a means of strength to us through their God, the Lord of
Heaven’s Armies.’
6
On that day I will make the leaders of Judah like an igniter among sticks
and a burning torch among sheaves, and they will burn up all the
surrounding nations right and left. Then the people of Jerusalem will
settle once more in their place, the city of Jerusalem.

One thought:

The sheer volume of God’s words against His enemies should lead us to deeper reflection on this aspect of His character and activity.

Three questions:

What does verse 6 suggest is one of the purpose behind God’s destruction of His enemies?

Do you feel a part of the winning team?

Pray for a country today that it would bow the knee to Jesus

Prayer:

Praise God that He is the Lord of Armies who gives His people victory over their enemies. Give thanks that Jesus has emerged victorious over the devil, death and sin and that we can share in these victories. Ask God to help you pray for God’s enemies, that they would repent and turn to Jesus.
