Crawl-Walk-Run
Some of the roles you can serve in at Salt Church have a ‘Crawl-Walk-Run’ (CWR). This is like a dynamic job description – it explains what the role is, and it shows you how you can crawl, walk and then run in this role. Saying you’re ‘crawling’ in a role might feel a bit harsh! But when we start something new we start at the beginning, and the CWR will lead you, step-by-step, to become a better servant in your crucial role.
Importantly, ‘crawling’ in a role is not a statement about your value! Our value doesn’t come from what we do for God, but from what He has done for us, for: ‘you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession’ (1 Pet 2:9). From this stable place we serve: ‘with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen’ (1 Pet 4:10-11)
