Some things in life are just meant to be shared… a stunning sunrise, a new favourite café, or a life-changing experience. You don’t need to be told to share it, you just do! There’s something about joy, beauty, or truth that naturally pushes us outward. We want others to see what we’ve seen, feel what we’ve felt, and experience what we’ve experienced.

As Christians, we believe the gospel of Jesus is the ultimate thing worth sharing. It’s not just good advice or a nice idea, it’s a message of real hope, life, forgiveness, and purpose. It answers our deepest needs and offers a future that nothing else can.

And if we really believe that, we can’t keep it to ourselves!

Starting Sunday 27 July, we’re launching a new four-week sermon series titled Worth Sharing | Why & How To Share The Gospel.

Throughout the Bible, especially in the Gospels and Acts, we see a clear pattern: people encounter Jesus, or hear the message of salvation, and they immediately tell someone else. They don’t wait. They don’t keep it quiet. The gospel moves them to speak. That’s the kind of heart we want to grow in as Jesus’ disciples here in Wollongong.

Through this series, we’re asking God to grow us in our conviction, confidence, and competence—by His Word and Spirit. Why?

  • So that we’d have a deeper belief that the gospel really is good news for everyone.
  • So that we’d trust that God will use us to speak for Him.
  • So that we’d gain practical skills to share the gospel clearly and graciously.
  • So that we’d see a flood of lifelong disciples of Jesus across the Illawarra and beyond.

…all for the glory of God!

Let’s pray that this series doesn’t just inform us, but that it transforms us into people who can’t help but speak of the hope we have in Christ Jesus.

Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
– Acts 4:18–20

We’re excited. We hope you are too.
